Fix our roads now because Springfield IS worth it!

The Project

Several key streets have been identified as being in imminent need of preservation efforts. This means grinding down the top layer, making repairs, laying down a fresh coat of asphalt and upgrading ramps and sidewalks to ADA standards. Why? Because reconstructing roads are 4-10 times more expensive and much more intrusive on the lives of those that use the roads daily.

And, Springfield IS worth it!

Important Roads Preserved

At least 8  street sections, important to our community, will be preserved. 3 additional street sections have been identified if funds can be stretched that far.

5

Years to Collect the assessment

If passed, at will cost an estimated $0.50 cents per $1000 of assessed value (usually lower than market value) of property, per year for 5 years. That means it will cost the average homeowner $79 per year or $6.59 per month.

Million Dollars Raised

This general obligation bond is for 5 years and $10 million to fund repairs to a list of proposed city streets. No new roads will be built and no new city staff hired as a result of this project.

Impact to Homeowners

Bond Measure 20-296 proposes a 5 year, $10 million dollar general obligation bond to fund street repairs. It will cost an estimated $0.50 per $1000 of assessed value. The average home owner will pay an additional $79 per year for 5 years. That works out to just $6.58 per month. For the cost of one lunch out a month we will all get better roads to many of the destinations we know and love.
